It will be open each Saturday from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m and on Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m.

If you are interested in serving as a docent, please call Chuck Groger at 814-382-8722. A docent serves as a host for visitors, greeting them when they arrive, showing displays and giving tour, if guests are interested. They can,of course, take a self-guided tour.

Docents also sell items at the gift shop.

There are lots of notes about everything so it's not difficult.

If we don't have enough docents signed up, we could just close the museum for the day. Obviously, we don't want to do that, so please consider it.We always have two docents there and if you are new, we will schedule you with one who has worked before.

Thanks in advance.

The museum will be open through Pumpkin Fest in October
Liberty the Second Festival
As you may know,it's been 40 years since the Liberty the Second was raised from the bottom of the lake by divers Brian Simpson and Bill Houghton.

The historical society is planning a special event for Aug, 9 to commemorate the historic happening,
Plans are to start the engine that day.

Both Brian and Bill have agreed to come as well.

Please mark your calendars and watch for further information as details are complete.
