Christmas Trees
Every year the weekend after Thanksgiving, the museum is open to allow folks to buy items for Christmas during the Small Business Saturday.
This year because of Thanksgiving being later in the month, we will open as well the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The special dates are for the Christmas Tree Display, which opens that day.
We invite anybody who would like to participate to bring your tree to the museum, 150 N. Third St., on Saturday, Nov. 9, starting at 10 a.m. You can stay and decorate it with others that day or make arrangements to come other days to decorate.
Trees may be of any size and decorated in your style. The trees then will be on display for public tours starting Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The display will be up Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Dec. 1 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m; and during the Ice House Festival on Dec. 7 starting at 10 a.m.
A People's Choice Prize will be awarded this year.
As you enjoy the decorated trees, you will be able to vote for the one you like best. The prize will be awarded at 1;30 p.m.Dec. 7.
If you would like to help, please call Judy Groger at 814-382-8722.
Trees may be removed after the Ice House Festival or by appointment. We would like to have all trees removed by DEC. 16.
That will give the display committee room to work for next spring's exhibits.
The display is open to the public, free of charge.
Please join us as we get the holiday spirit and light up our town!
Crawford Gives a Success
We once again participated in the Crawford Gives program sponsored by the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation.
As you may know, the program is held over four days and people call and make donations to the various non-profits.
This year we had 35 donors who donated more than $9,000.
Plans are to use that money to help paint the exterior of the building next spring.
Thank you to each one for your support.
It is much appreciated!
