The Breeze

CL BREEZE NEWSPAPER.jpg

For more than 60 years, Conneaut Lake was served with its own weekly newspaper, the Conneaut Lake Breeze.

When the Historical Society was formed, Joanne Scaduto and Gerald John Sidner donated more than $2,500 in memory of their grandfather, M.E. Barton and their sister, Barbara Lou Sidner Madden, to have the papers transferred to microfilm. We currently have all the copies on microfilm. And through the efforts of Rep. John Evans, a $5,000 grant was secured to purchase a microfilm reader and printer. This has allowed quick access to the paper and the ability to print an article.

In 2020, through the support of Dietrich Foundation we were able to transfer the issues to a digital searchable format.  We encourage you to contact us to visit our Research Center and browse through this incredible snapshot of life in Conneaut Lake through the years.

We are pleased to announce that the Breeze newspapers are now available online and you can browse and search them from the comfort of your home. Please click on the link below to go to the instructions and a direct link to the papers.
